Sandvik wanted to explore the possibility of using image recognition to identify failures on rock tools.
The app creates initial troubleshooting analysis and report with the help of photographs taken by the end-users. Artificial intelligence was utilised and trained a neural network with hundreds of images achieving a 97% accuracy of identifying failures . Cases can be solved outright upon submission of the report.
A report is generated and sent by the end- users directly to Sandvik and then they take action to solve the issue based from the app's recommendation.
